Baltimore Ravens
I proud to say I am a Baltimore Ravens fan! Today the Ravens just dismantled a team searching deep down inside trying to figure out who was going to make a play or when a spark would be lite. However the Eagles failed to do both of these. As the Ravens offense was looking for ways to get going the defense put them in spots where they could do no wrong. Joe Flacco hooking up with Mark Clayton on a 55 yard slant late in the game just put the game out of reach. However it was Ed Reeds 108 yard interception return for a touchdown that gave the Ravens all the momentum they needed to finish off the dying Eagles. The Eagles playoff dreams were ended today as they lost 36-7 an embarassing score Andy Reid must look at and swallow, as the Eagles may have another shot next year.

Untitled
After discussing the pros and cons a specific point rose to mind. The idea about how one person can change another persons idea about religion or science. A good point or theory debating why this happened or do you really think that is possible can change a persons perspective on belief. Another thing that struck my mind dealt with how serious a matter can be to someone to actually question it or not. Talking about fruit flies... I know I don't have a need to care about something like that but when we talked about homosexuality and how its genetic that raises more than a couple eyebrows. Persuasion and how serious something can be causes issues in the world we live in today. More people are susceptible to change and new ideas rather than sticking with what they believe in and this causes problem in society today.

Debts...
As talked about in class today.. a certain point drew my attention about the hierarchy of a debt or something owed to another. As Connor said debts are debts no matter what you make out of it however to the extent of the debt. I believe there should be consequences for not fulfilling your word, however taking a pound of flesh out of someone is a bit harsh. The bible states law and rules and when the consequence of not owning up to your date goes outside the normal relm and into insanity i believe it is violating God's rules. I think Portias statement made a lot of sense talking about how barbic Shylock is and how mercy is much stronger than power. The pure goodness of someone should never be lost but given to someone much less giving them another chance to make right of what they did not taking a part of them.

Jew who?
After thinking about everything we discussed in class today.. I agreed with Shylock's comments about everyone being equal no matter if you are black or blue. We all are human we bleed the same and have all the senses a human qualifies for. I think everyone in the world should be created equal no matter their religion, heritage, or anything else that can qualify someone as being "different" In the reading Jews were looked down upon. I know i make fun of Jews like everyone else does thinking its funny just like the black jokes but in all seriousness everyone should be viewed upon as the same. It isn't what we look like that determines the kind of person we are portrayed to be, but the way we carry ourselves. I agree with Shylocks soliloquy, his point is valid and makes sense.

The Second Teaching 62-63
From Attachment desire arises...From desire anger is born...From anger comes confusion....From confusion memory lapses.... from broken memory understanding is lost.... from loss of understanding... he is ruined.
When you become attached to something you have to have it or obtain and keep getting it no matter how hard it is to break away. Anger can arise from desire depending on how strong the desire is, it can make one go crazy. Being so wrapped up in your anger one may get confused in his or her owner anger or whatever it is he/she is made about. Memory can then collapse from all the frustration he/she built up. When everything is lost eventually you break away and lose everything....

Beliefs
Reading the Genesis creation stories really helped depict a vivid image of what was going on throughout the two stories. Talking about God creating man from dust and how he created light was all of a belief. However most people do not believe someone can create man from dust yet alone just say let there be light and poof it's there. However people do not believe this was actually how the world came about but they still believe in God. I on the other hand believe most accounts in the bible or in Genesis seem to be true but I try not to take everything so literally. The bible was not meant to be taken literally but to give a sense of direction or guidance about oneself. A lot of the stories relate to a certain time or place you were faced with a similar challenge or situation, which allows for change and understanding of the outcome. I thoroughly believe in God and the things that were created from him, I know that He has a purpose for everything he does the reason for it. God is good.

Music...
Music is a method many people use throughout their daily lives. Music provides inspiration, motivation, and emotions. Music has taken over our lives throughout the day. People hum, sing, and create musical beats to help them get through things or stay calm. Taking tests or going to work music is present internally or externally in some way. Music is gives us a perspective on life and the way we go about doing things. Sometimes people incorporate music with their school work using song quotes or instrumentals for a project. Without music the world would be dull... a silence would fill the air and no matter where you are you just hear people talking. Music however can be a bad thing... illegal downloading cause’s major fines and possibly major jail time. Music has changed the minds of people causing them to murder or rape because the music told them too or promotes it. A lot of people blame things on the music we listen to but it’s not the music’s fault. Technically the music did not make you kill that person and so on. Music is essential in our lives but taken the wrong way can lead to chaos. Music should never be taken for granted.

Alex Archie
It was on a late afternoon of December 10, 2007 when screams, yells, and crying filled the atmosphere at the Hill School. A cop car was parked out in front of Foster dormitory and no one was allowed inside. Everyone was wondering what the hell was going on, how come no one was allowed inside the dorm. Shocking news a Post graduate like myself named, Alex Archie had hung himself from his own door. Thoughts and emotions ran wild throughout the students minds wondering why? What? How come? Is he alive? However he was pronounced dead, after all these years hearing tragic things on the news saying to myself, "Damn that sucks, but it won't ever happen to me." In reality it does and I started question things more asking God, how is this possible? This kid had everything going for him a full scholarship to a Division 1 Lacrosse powerhouse: Duke University. But Alex had thrown it all away over a silly matter is what was believed. To this day I think about Alex all the time and how he inspired me. Never gave up always strives for a goal that seemed so hard to reach... he conquered it. The number 16, the number he wore is always remembered throughout a sporting event. I don't know why God decided it was time for Alex to go or why he chose that method of death, but it was unjust. But then again God works in strange slow mysterious ways. I try to live everyday like it could be my last knowing that I could at any second. Alex will always be missed throughout my life.

Preparation
Preparing for a test, a sports competition, or even everyday life can be challenging and frustrating. Each day we have to manage our time positively and learn how to prepare ourselves the upcoming event. Each day I like to stay on top of my events make sure I take care of my work, stay on top of everything, get myself in the weight room and practice hard and just making sure I'm well organized with everything else going on in life. We cannot be perfect but we can be prepared for any task up ahead. I think the key to success is preparation. How many times have we taken a test or realized if we just put a little more time or effort on that chapter or whatever you just did you would of nailed it. I know i have many of times and I'm working each day to be more organized and ready. Life will always present challenges and my goal this year is to conquer each challenge given by being ready. However i know i won't be conquer each, but do my very best in any way shape or form to prepare for what is ahead.

to kill or not to kill?
After discussing about Abraham and Issac, their story about God tempting Abraham to kill his son, it left me with some thoughts. I believe in God and everything he does, however I never came to the conclusion he would actually have a father take the life of a child. I know He does everything for a reason but what was the justification for this. I believe God works in slow strange ways. I believe God was testing Abraham's faith, seeing if he trusted God's decision. However I don't understand why God wanted him to kill his son. Issac realizes how crazy he is and leaves the country. I think Issac did not have faith in God because he abandoned his own dad, instead of trusting what he father was doing. I do not believe in taking the life of someone and if God were to put me in this place i do not think i could even come close to taking the life of another. If you were willing to kill your own son, your loyalty to God is undeniable. There is nothing more you can ask for, God was not planning on killing Issac, he was just testing his faith.

Prep School Year
It was back in August when I made the move to the Hill School located in Pottstown, Pa. I was not sure what to expect or the changes I would undergo but my intuition told me it was not going to be easy. Learning the ways of a 5Th year high school was tough. Being stuck in a dorm on a Friday-Saturday night was something I wasn't expecting. All my friends were out partying having fun, getting phones calls like, "Kory, where you at man?" The struggle of change and dedication helped me prepare myself to the upcoming road ahead, College. If it was not for the Hill School I don't think I would be able to become organized, managing my time, and prioritize what's more important if I didn't go to Hill. It was a big step in my life and I feel as if I conquered the impossible.
Now I am in college looking back on this year, thinking to myself how fast it all flew by. Just yesterday I was at preseason doing 3 a days with a struggling football team and now I am on a top quality Division III team learning how to get better each day. I believe what you put into something is what you are going to get out, no matter what the task upholds.
